Hi all, Some time ago some cool guy by the name of Szico VII released an awesome Mod called FFVII: Midgar v3.0 - a Final Fantasy 7 Total Conversion Mod!

Now for those of you who are new to it, or have heard of it before, i would like to inform you that the MOD still lives... and a New Website, and Dedicated Server for this Mod has emerged along with community building in the process!

So if you are interested in more details come check us out at: Final Fantasy VII – ONLINE.NET | Fan-Game Site

=)

Cheers!

So, is SzicoVII involved with this in any way or did you just take his map and call it a total conversion? Since your website doesn't really tell you much and it doesn't look like anything has been changed from when he released it before.

I did see on your site that some people still get a chuckle from when i killed Szico on the bikes in the trailer. no Szico though

I clearly give credit to SzicoVII on the site and even link back to his blog site, i tried contacting him but did has not responded.

Im just hosting a dedicated server for the mod... nothing else.. not renaming it or anything... or trying to take credit for it in anyway if that what u mean... nor am i claiming to have changed anything...

i'm just adding add-on packs for those who want to join my server! addition FF weapons, characters to pick, that was not included with Midgar 3.0, and ofcoarse simply promoting it!

So, you took a map, added FF7 stuff, and made a server?

Not the most original idea in the book, but I gotta give you props for having a cool looking site.

Thanks for the compliant on the website... but i also did not design that lol! designer link / credit is below at the footer...

may i ask... why does it seem i get the feeling not many of you will provide any real positive feedback on the fact that I am hosting a FFVII:Midgar v3.0 Server where no one else in the world is? Is anyone thinking about that part?

My title of this thread really says it all... "Midgar v3.0 Lives!"

i'm just simply letting people know the Mod is not dead... still alive and kicking.. .and i am sharing it with the Final Fantasy Community and getting great positive feedback from them!...

so please do... really look at the good im doing... im not stealing, taking credit, nor profiting from someone elses work!

the creator seems to have abandoned the mod... he he totally unreachable! not my fault... the mod is up for anyone to download and share, if that was not the purpose then im sure the creator would not have made it public to begin with... so please give me break geez

Szico just made a map and a few people tossed in a handful of models. That's it. I'm not surprised that he doesn't seem to care whether or not people use his map on a server. He did his part, now the community is doing its. He already knows that the map was a fine success, people love it and use it. What more does a creator need?

Besides, he left the community after making Atlantica.

Which is really too bad, because his maps are the best I've ever seen...

If you're looking for handouts and pats on the back for that, you need a few things straightened out.
You mean MAP, right? See, a MAP is something that people PLAY on. Midgar is a MAP. Not a MOD. A MOD is when you have skins, models, maps, and code. (Or you could just have code/graphics/effects on their own and its a mod)
so please do... really look at the good im doing... im not stealing, taking credit, nor profiting from someone elses work!

Not only do you fail at discerning between maps and mods, it also seems you fail at understanding the point of releases. See, when a good map and a good developer get together, the good developer releases the map to the public so that others may benefit from playing on it. Midgar is a MAP, therefore there is no reason for him to continue anything with it, its done, it needs no more. You, the player, then uses the map on a server, which is what you're doing. I don't see Cael getting handouts or pats on the back, or "OMG UR SERVER IS AWESOME", when he does essentially the same thing as you, just in a different style.

DUDE!! Seriously.... this is not all that serious...

NO ONE HERE IS ASKING FOR HANDOUT, PAT ON THE BACK, ANYTHING!!! SIMPLY SHARING INFORMATION!!! NOT TAKING CREDIT, STEALING WORK, OR ANYTHING OF THE SORT!! I PUT THIS IN CAPS BECAUSE YOU SEEM TO NOT GET THE PURPOSE OF THE POST...

regarding MAP & MOD... it's all a matter of perception... merely words... so don't get your panties in a twist

Let's keep it friendly, at-least. No rules are being broken. We're not forcing you to like his server or thread. Opinions and thoughts are fine if they're not provocative.
