Fx>fx_runner Look in assets1 for all the effects. Then when you find a effect you want use the key "fxfile" n your fx_runer and give the path and effect name with .efx as they key.

What he said, just find a .efx file and then create and fx_runner on the map then make a key of fxFile and a value of env/fire then compile the map and walla fire! Now if for other .efx files like a flame jet which fires the .efx in a certain direction, you might want to change the direction in which the .efx goes. This is simple by just adding a a info_null, then selet the fx_runner and then the info_null and hit Ctrl + K to connect them. So now your fx_runner with fire the .efx toward the direction the info_null is. Hope that helps! :)

Put the middle of the fx_runner on where you want it to be coming from, then just do it the same way.
