Sorry for not posting this in the problems, issues section of the forum but that place doesn't seem very active

Anyway, in all the mods I play for JKA or even just singleplayer my fps never goes above 50. I've seen in videos and what not of 75 fps and higher, I'm positive it isn't my video card as it is fairly new (GeForce GTX 560 Overclocked)

I would appreciate if anyone could shed some light on why this is or how to fix it.:p

Higher FPS does not mean 'better' - v-sync was introduced for a reason. Playing with and without v-sync have their own pros/cons, but you may want to know what they are before sacrificing them.

Having v-sync on will often result in minor visual input lag due to waiting for the monitor to refresh. Having v-sync off will result in screen tearing due to rendering another frame before your monitor has finished refreshing. Certain FPS values (85, 125, 333) exploit the movement calculations present in iD Tech 3, the game engine used by JA to achieve marginally higher jumps and be affected by gravity less.

To turn v-sync on/off, use /r_swapInterval 0-1 To cap your FPS, use /com_maxFPS 0-1000

If you're struggling to reach your desired FPS, these cvars are the main performance hits: /cg_shadows 0 /r_dynamicGlow 0 /cg_rendertotexturefx 0
