The sabers do look alike. One is made by a professional high high powered equipment. While the other is made by a fan, for free, and with less powerful equipment. That would be like comparing a choreagraphed fight by pros to a school yard play fight. Both are fake but they accomplish the same thing.

dude I've started modeling last year in december and when i modeled my galen Marek lightsaber I didnt have that reference pic i've built it basing at some blurry game screenshots
and also the pic you've looked at is unshadered and sadly seems to be flat that black thing is a tube with a glowing crystal inside I've also cut out 2 of the wall segments and reedited he remaning segments to close up again so that you cant see the space between the faces of the tube
I've taught everything I know about modeling myself and only watche dthe crappy built in tutorials videos from 3ds max
you have more experience with modeling and maybe you've read tons of tutorials I dunno but here : :moon:
so joining time for beta testing is over i'll do the last touch ups for the JO version give it a small testrun myself and then I'll pm the saber to you

ok.... my JKA is acting wierd since I've installed that windows (XP) update today :(
It takes over 30 minutes to get the the main menu ! before the update it took less than a minute ! It's gonna piss me off since all loading times need that long too :uhm:
until I've fixed that you have to wait , sorry :(
