Hello everybody, i am ^ArÐoÑ from the lucasarts general chat forum. Scripting is my weakest point ever, (just so you know) Wat i wanted to tell is: I wanna start a SP Project, a Project such like "The Tournament of Ieyasu" or "Vengeance of the Sith". Ill post the story when someone replies here and is interesting in helping me. Note: I only start when i got to good people. (i mean i got enough players) The point is like i said before in this post, [Scripting is my weakest point ever], thats why i need the following people with these skills: Scripters (for cutscenes and such) Mappers (for the design of the exploring in the SP Project, "my design is bad" VideoProf (for the StoryLines and main logo to capture) MenuMaker (for the menu when loaded the Project) If anyone got one of the following skills, please mail me at email@example.com. I need your help guys! ~ArÐoÑ
To be realistic, if you want to make an SP project, you would need to map and script yourself. Rare are the projects where there are more principal mappers than the one person behind the whole thing. Menu files aren't really worth more than a couple of evening messing with the UI files, plus some graphics, and those graphics you could indeed get from elsewhere. Also, when you already have quality material to show, you might get some video pro to get interested. Especially if you know him beforehand.
So, the bottom line: Prepare to do all the mapping and scripting yourself. For the rest it's possible to find some help.
Yeah i know but there are so many script bugs in my head like:
1. Camera views another point when info_null linked
2. How to let NPC's walk in a scene.
3. What are the answers on 1 and 2?
Anyway, if you dont know this (maybe dumb but), can i count then on your help lassev?
There was a very nice tutorial on nav_goal use (that is, how to make NPCs walk around in cinematic mode) for Elite Force that was just as perfect for JO/JA as well. But it hasn't been online for years. I guess the only place where it exists anymore is my HD, and thus it's not going to help you very much. Your best bet might unfortunately be just to search forums for an answer.
But generally speaking both of those two things are so easy anybody could learn them. There is simply no excuse not to teach yourself those things. If you wish, I might zip that tutorial I mentioned and send the packet directly to your email address, if you PM the contact info to me.
When you have reached a more advanced level of scripting, then I might be persuaded to give specific answers. Provided I had them... But until then, I can only say that mapping is hard sport, and many a good man fall in the fire.
Ok, u can send the zip file to my new email firstname.lastname@example.org I already know some script stuff, (a little). But thanks anyway.
This problem i never met, but:
When i target a ref_tag to a info_null, then compile the camera script, the camera faces the wrong point! he just picks a point and thats it! What the hell is wrong?! NOTE: i can send the map file and camera script if you want to check it.
Read the camera tutorials a little more carefully. It sounds like you haven't (properly) used the PAN camera command, just the MOVE command.
I did use the PAN comand. But it just faces the wrong point.
^ArÐoÑOk, u can send the zip file to my new email firstname.lastname@example.org
This email address doesn't accept the email with the attachment. It appears your alloted (or remaining) server space is less than the size of the tutorial packet. So, short story even shorter, I cannot send the tutorial zip to that address.
