I'm trying to get some JK3 models to work in JK2, so I'm wondering. How can I find out where the shader and image files are for whichever model in JKA, and once found, is it simply a matter of transfering the files to jk2?

No... feel free to try and see how mangled the model looks ;) JO-->JA = Simple JA-->JO = Complicated You'll have to completely replace the skeleton and reweight/rerig it. Modellers say it's "boring" rather than "difficult", although I was never patient enough to figure out rigging and weighting.

He didn't necessarily say PLAYER models... If you are talking about a player model, it will distort the player because of the skeleton. If you are talking about a map object of some sort, the md3 or glm can be opened by win notepad. Inside the mess of text, you should find a filepath or filepaths to a texture. dont make any changes to the glm or md3 with notepad, it won't work.

If there are shaders involved, you are just gonna have to track down the texture in the shader files and copy the text into a new shader for JO. Of course find any extra textures the shader might be using for the original texture.
