How can you give a bot a custom weapon?

Here's the bot file so far.

{ name "AC Sephiroth" model AC_Sephiroth_Szico weapon "ac_masamune" personality /botfiles/ac_sephiroth_szico.jkb }

(the weapon is in models\weapons2\ac_masamune

now, as of yet, all the bots still use a blue saber.. so what do I need to change/put in here to get them to use the masamune?

Here's a *very* old bot file of mine: { name "Jurgan Kalta Armor" model jurgan_kalta_armor/default color1 5 color2 5 saber1 "dual_3" saber2 "none" personality /botfiles/jurgan_kalta_armor.jkb }

Try this: { name "AC Sephiroth" model AC_Sephiroth_Szico saber 1 "ac_masamune" personality /botfiles/ac_sephiroth_szico.jkb } No guarantees... bot files are not exactly my forte. I just kind of make them and send them on their way ;)

Unfortunately it doesn't work :( Oh, i assumed you meant not to put a space between the saber and the 1, but i tried it both ways, to no avail :( Sorry :(

Oh, oops... shouldn't have put that space in there, hehe. I haven't done this in a while, so I'd have to test it. Of course I probably should have mentioned that the last time I tried to give a bot a certain weapon, my game froze... I just assume I did it wrong, though.

lol ;) heh, well it doesnt crash for me, they all use blue sabers :P hmm, i was looking at the general grievous botfile and it has this:

{ name "grievousvm" model grievous color1 3 color2 1 saber1 "single_1" saber2 "single_1" personality /botfiles/grievousvm.jkb }

is the "single_1" the name of a hilt?

single_1 is the designation of the hilt. Here's the .saber file of "single_1"

single_1 { name @MENUS_SINGLE_HILT1 saberType SABER_SINGLE saberModel "models/weapons2/saber_1/saber_1.glm" soundOn "sound/weapons/saber/saberon.wav" soundLoop "sound/weapons/saber/saberhum4.wav" soundOff "sound/weapons/saber/saberoff.wav" saberLength 40 saberColor random } What you want to put after saber1 is what comes before the brackets, which I've bolded. Of course as I said, I haven't tested this recently, so I can't say if it'll even work or not. In theory it should.

haha, found the problem :)

'notInMP 1'

I didnt want it to show up in saber menu, but apparently bots cant use sabers which arent in the menu, even though npc's can. Haha, oh well :)
