I was wondering if it was possible to make the white eyes of my skin to glow up green in the dark?
I'm pretty sure a feature like that is unsupported in the Q3 engine. Of course, there may be a shader which could accomplish the glowing green effect, but I doubt it can be activated only when in dark lighting.
I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.
well never the less i want to learn more about shaders, but all the tutorials bout them i read so far were so confusing that i just gave up.
You can have a texture unaffected by lighting (ie it will always have the same level of brightness regardless of light conditions), but I doubt there's a shader to turn your skin's eyes green in the dark. The closest thing you could get to that would be a different colored specular shader, but that wouldn't really do it.
to bad... it would have been cool ^^
Uhhh. Then explain how i did it in my Admin skin. All you need to do is make the eyes somewhat green. Feel free to use the shader i made.
Because your Admin skin doesn't do what he wants to do
Do you understand the concept of glowing in the dark? It means it doesn't glow. Unless it's dark.
Ah. Well you can certaintly make the eyes a specular shader. In a mod i submitted to jk3files 2 days ago, there is a skin that is enirly unaffected by light. You can use that shader if it comes out soon.
You can also find that shader in the default game shaders, in players.shader, I believe. It is used for the Jawa eye "glow" (not a glow at all, as glow is not possible in JA without the use of dynamic glow, which does not work for all graphics cards).
yeah, my ATI 9600 it doesnt, you can put that on the list of bad cards :P
