malrak_dosstayeah, my ATI 9600 it doesnt, you can put that on the list of bad cards :P

Or you could download the JA patch and fix that problem. The jawa script works rather well, as it looks normal in lighted area, but appears to glow in the dark. However, you could not get the color to change in said areas. Peace!

ATIs should work with dynamic glow. GeForce 2 and GeForce 4's don't, though, so anyone using those older cards (like me :() can't see dynamic glow. Though from what I've seen I'm not missing anything except annoying blurs.

Not the way most people (ab)use it

However I really don't consider it a "true" glow, since it only works on certain graphics cards. If not everyone can see it, it's not real :p. There are some clever work-arounds to fake a glow, but it only works on certain things.

I have a GeForce 4 MX440 and it works fine with dynamic glow. :uhm:

I have a not-so-nice GeForce 4, and it doesn't work with it. Never has, never will, unless the recent driver update changed anything.

I noticed something strange. You Americans and Englishmen are generally way richer than people in Poland, also the hardware is cheaper in your countries, but still you have those old graphics cards (it's only an example). I understand it is enough for things you do, so there is no need for buying a new one. And I think that's entirely right. But you know, here in Poland there is a complete different mentality. The majority of computer users, mainly young ones, but not only, tend to buy the best and newest equipment that is available on the market. Their parents work like dogs so that the children can play newest games and show off at school or on internet and laughing at others, who can't afford some things. And generally they can do nothing but playing. But it doesn't concern only computers, it's a general rule - you have to follow the latest trends or you get scorned by others. Everybody has the newest mobile phones, although they use nothing but SMS and ringing, so they could as well have a 5 years old phone. Also the shoes, you have to wear original ones (Nike, Adidas etc.), no fake is accepted. I could say a lot more, for example cars, especially when tuning is concidered, or body building, but there is no point. I only wonder when the society will grow up. I hate this showing off, which can be seen on every corner. I'm not saying I am excluded from that:) Sorry, it was a bit off topic, I like dynamic glow in game, when it's soft. P.S. Once I thought that my cats eyes glow in the dark, hehe, but they don't. So better leave the idea.

Unfortunately, most people who flaunt material possesions are only compensating for thier lack of charecter, which is something that is pricless and cannot be bought. I kind of view it like "oh look, that person is so incredibally shallow and void that they recieved a door prize to compensate for thier lack of existence" Some people, not all. Then again, if you got it, work it. Now b.o.t... Dynamic glow in JA is awsome! Only recently (say about 2 weeks ago) I was finally able to view it in Ja (due to recent patch) and I must say that it truely does add depth and charecter to the game...very nice! I have an ATI card and the patch indeed fixed the dynamic glow problem, might work for you Inryi-Peace!

Well Aribabaree but what you just said is a typical example of the behaviour in countries that are not so wealthy. Because the people in there wants to prove themselves, they want to show that they are upper-class, even if they are not and can't afford all the stuff to show off with. I think the "show off syndrom" exists everywhere but it's just worse in relative poor countries like Poland. I saw some examples of shaders that you have to fill in but they were with gaps in it... (also one of you, Inyri) but I would help to see a completely filled in example.

Screw "trends". We are who we are, and anyone who rates people by what they wear or how "cool" they are is dumb. And besides, I love my little GF4 and it loves me. Although I have to send it packing for a 6800GT so I can play this new game I got... :( Ah well...
