Hey, just recently i've become attached to Gmax modeling, and made 7 hilts already, my last being my best and most advanced. I was wondering where i could find a modeling tutorial to make a humanoid and all that good stuff for gmax -- one that hasent erased their tutorial page... any places?

There aren't any listed here because you can't get models in-game with gmax alone. If you're looking to try your hand at player models you'd be better off learning XSI mod tools.

The link in the Tutorials & Tools sticky should be up-to-date.

We do have it for a reason....

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

actually... for some reason (Autodesc? xP) Softimage "gave a break" on mod tools downloads (they say it'll be back early Janurary) it could be just a problem with the program that needs fixing (I beleave I saw it was on 8.0), tho there are may be a bunch of other mirrors

ps.: sorry I looked for some but couldn't find =.= was sure of 2 other places, including filefront, but they're ... not there

tbh you could do it like me, i do the player model in 3ds max, then export into 3ds and weigh it in mod tools

and if you ask how i get the player model pose correctly, i build it around the jka skeleton imported into 3dsmax

ye i know why do it in mod tools when i can in 3ds max? well tbh for some reason i never managed to weigh anything properly in 3ds max lol

knowing Autodesk, they're likely figuring out what to remove from xsi mod tools. since mod tools is almost the fully functional program they might see it as a reason not to buy the full thing.
