I'm guessing you mean GLM Importer for Milkshape3D, Jedi Knight 3 Downloads, Jedi Knight 3 Modeling Tools. That is already installed in my milkshape 3d 1.8.4 directory. Everytime I click file > import > ghoul2.glm it says:

This copy is not registered! If you want to use MilkShape 3D, you should buy a registration code at chUmbaLum sOft.

Yeah, that's the problem with trial versions. Most companies tend to restrict functionality, so that you get a taste of the program but still need to buy it.

That would be why I suggested Gmax and XSI Mod Tool - both are freeware.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

Well yeah but Jose did this with the trial version, or so says his tutorial. Did he just screw up and think trial version could import .glm or...?

I know Jose owns Milkshape, so that's possible. However it may also be dependant on version.

To be honest, there's quite a few reasons for the discrepancy, and until Jose shows up we're not gonna have an easy time getting to the bottom of it, so it's probably best to wait for him to pop in again.

I see, well, if I used the XSI mod tool in place of milkshape for his tutorial, would it still be do-able and...well...newbie do-able?

Neither gmax nor XSI have GLM importers, to the best of my knowledge. Of course most modelers don't need GLM importers because they're making their own models.

Well I feel like such an idiot. I totally forgot about my friend who plays half-life and uses milkshape to edit some of his models in-game. He's out of town for a few days, and I got the key to his house. Anyhow, I log onto his comp, and get up to the part in the tutorial where it says Delete his head and delete everything starting with '*'. I sliced off his head, but what exactly does he mean by delete everything starting with a *? Heres a screenshot of what i've got done so far:

I was wondering exactly how do I do this? I opened up the JA model in XSI Mod Tools and then imported my .obj model:

GokuSSJ3Skeleton.jpg

Now I was wondering how do I take the model and put it on that skeleton? I'm a bit of a newbie modeler, thanks!

You need to resize the model to fit the skeleton and then weigh the model to the skeleton. If you don't know how to do this please refer to the documentation included with Mod Tools and/or google a weighting tutorial for that software. You may also want to refer to Tim Applebee's tutorial (which can be found through the master sticky).
