Is it possible to make the player able to use level 3 force grip on an object and move it around in a 'gravity gun' style?
i highly doubt that, it would probably require coding, and even then, i dont know if ja could pull it off.
I don't think so. It may be possible, but I don't think its likely. I may be wrong though.
Darth Masiaka of the long blades.
Well, maybe not even a gravity gun style, just acting like the object is a person. You can move people around, why not objects?
u mean like the gravity gun in HL deathmatch? because i dont think it would be possible in JKA
I think I see what your getting at. It might be possible to make a model of some random object (Lets say a box) and give it NPC qualities. But in this case just make it a static npc. It might work, however I don't know much about modeling or NPC coding. but it seems feasible.
Its possible if a good coder sat down and wrote the code for the gun using a similar set up for grip, and then replaced a weaponslot with the new weapon. Also if you wanted to pick up things in the map, they would have to a specific new entity like func_physics. (thats to make a Gravity gun)
If you wanna just make grip pick up objects, you still gotta code in a new entity and add to the code for grip. Im not a coder though, but Id assume thats how it would be done, roughly.
hmm... im gonna go make a box into an npc and see if that works... good idea btw. and even if this whole box npc thing works, you would still have to replace all the map objects with npc spawn points spawning the map object npcs, and that would be a lot of work, so yeah
Well this doesn't nessicarilly have to be used in the base JKA maps. If this works, mappers could implement it into their future maps.

I've done this with an x-wing and a tie before, the only problem is that it's not set up properly for it and sinks half into the ground. Although I think I may know how to fix that.
