I recently tried to use GTK Radiant on my PC, which runs Windows 7 and Jedi Academy through GLDirect. 1.5.0 reported some GL errors and crashed regularly whatever I did, and 1.4.0 crashes every time I click on a texture.

Is anybody able to help?

Small flaw in your mighty plan - I don't have an XP disk and no way in hell am I about to go buy one. I need money for a new computer.

I'd better get my laptop out then.

Are you able to roam around the map without a crash?

If not, and if you have any ASE models previously compiled on XP, recompile those ASE models and it should work fine. (Atleast thats what fixed my problem... weird but it did)

Alternately, if you CBA to compile ASE models and you dont need to view them to work on certain areas of the map, you can just filter models out.

*snicker* Now c'mon, as much as I'm with you on that, and it would probably solve a lot of problems, it's not exactly very helpful since XP's gettin' phased out.

It is very interesting indeed. I can use it for some games, but not others. Quake 3 itself, for example, will not run while I am diverting GL through DX. JO and JA will not run unless I am. I think it's most likely due to running XP drivers on a W7 machine, since there are no newer ones available.

1.5 crashes at random intervals, more often than not before I've even drawn my first brush. 1.4 crashes whenever I try to load a texture onto a brush.

What do you mean by ASE models, where do I get them, and how do I compile them? I haven't modded Q3 in a very long time.

I figured, I just didn't want to take the time to say that most people with Vista have issues. I think maybe tomorrow I should install radiant on my Windows 7 RC1 partition (dual booting, FTW), and see if I get the same issue.

Damn hard drive crash, I'd be doing it myself otherwise. Can't use XPMode either :(

Have you tried running it in compatibility mode for XP SP2?
