Hey guys, I'm wondering, Is there a way to have more space then 250 entities with gtk radiant? If there isn't is there another way to make maps that will give me more space? Thanks -Sir Baggiepants

?! you can have more than 250 entities o.O but no entity can have more than 256 brushes (<-- i am not 100% sure if that is correct).. but that's no problem usually

Well when I published my map for people to use on lugormod they couldn't place that many entities because the map had reached its limit. (250 entities.) That help at all?

Umm, no such limit exists. I frequently have over 1000 entities in my maps. So does Raven...

However, the game (not the editor) but the engine itself can only support a certain number of models...I believe that's the case.

The entity limit per map is in the thousands, over 2,000 (because I have a map with over 2k)

Although, you can only have 1024 entities in use in one instance inside the map. If you have more than that you get G_Spawn: No Free Entities. If you have breakables in the map that makes it even harder to stay below. Because breakables create temporary FX entities when the break which can cause you to go over and crash.

But yeah, your entities should be fine so far unless you did something really wrong.

It only takes effect once it is run on a real server, with other people if that helps. If it ever becomes a problem, I can make a mod people can include with the map (like Midgar and the extra vehicles mod) that increases the max entities.

Even so, I had about 2,700 at one point, compiled and ran it on a server with about 6 people. Its now down to about 1,008 due to a lot of light entity removals. (This was on my Republic Cruiser map during a beta btw- and it was on baseJKA v1.00)

Although this comment still stands about the 1024 max entities being run at one time. I had midgar in my base folder at the time of a few of the tests and it always crashed. Because a server probably cannot handle more than that all at once, even if theres just one person there.

You may be able to increase the ammount of entities a map can have total but I think that if you increased the ones that can run in an instance you'd get alot of problems, and you may need a new exe. (I dont know if thats true) (that is if you can find it in the first place)

But that really should not be a problem, if RC doesn't have that much you should be good :P (For those who have seen the map and know what I'm talking about)
