Hello everybody.

I recently installed windows 7 64bits Ultimate and the GtkRadiant compatibility issues started. So i checked a lot of sites and solutions but none works for me completely.

After some tests I figured out a simple solution. Maybe It works for 32bits based system but I have no sure.

Ok, so what to do? Simple, just need two configurations:

FIRST: go to GtkRadiant.exe > properties > Compatibility >

- check compatibility for Windows 98/Windowns Me - check "Disable visual themes"

click OK

SECOND: execute GtkRadiant, go to preferences > interface > UNCHECK "Native File-Chooser"

click OK

Done!

The only thing you need to do is put .map in the end of your mapname always that you save.

My 1.5 on Win7 never had any problems. Btw playin' with Compatibility menu usually solves these problems.

Same here but... doesn't seem a little random whether programs and games like this works or don't work on win 7 or is that just me?

I really don't understand it because on my first Win7 something was working fine, while on the second that doesn't... with the same hardwares and drivers... btw it should depend on hardwares, drivers, Win7 version and etc I think, but sometimes it really looks random.
