I couldn't get the file submit page on jk2files to work, so I'll put it here for now.

*********************************** Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy *********************************** TITLE: Christmas Hats Mod AUTHOR: redsaurus E-MAIL: [email protected] WEBSITE: Movie Battles - Home

FILENAME: santahats.pk3 FILESIZE: 2.2MB DATE RELEASED: 21 December 2009

CREDITS: Huge thanks to Lervish for the amazing Christmas hat model, without which this mod wouldn't exist (he really deserves most of the credit for this...). Thanks to RazorAce (& OJP) for the trueview & holstering code which I stole some bits from. Thanks to The One and Only and MaceCrusherMadunusus for checking that this worked.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS: Drop the santahats.pk3 and christmashats.cfg files into your base folder. Please not that this mod is NOT compatible with other client-side code mods such as JA+, OJP, MBII, etc.

To uninstall delete the santahats.pk3 and christmashats.cfg.

DESCRIPTION: This mod adds Christmas hats to all players. Merry Christmas!

BUGS: The Christmas hats are only set up properly for the base models - they might clip into other models. Luckily, you can add support for new models as follows: Go in game, bring down the console and type "/hats_scale 1". Now you can adjust the positioning and scale of the hat by altering "hats_scale", "hats_y", and "hats_z". Once you've got the hat looking right, note down the values you've set them to, then type "/hats_scale 0" to turn off hats editing mode.

Now open up christmashats.cfg, and add a new line: myfancynewmodel "hats_y hats_z hats_scale" replacing hats_y, hats_z and hats_scale by whatever you set them to.

Also, some of the stuff might not work properly if you go straight in game after loading up the map, in which case you'll need to select a different model in the profile window, then select your model again to fix this.

The hats aren't lit entirely correctly.

COMMENTS: I'm planning on getting an MBII version of this out soon. I'm in the process of writing a mini-tutorial on compiling the SDK on macs, which should be up soon somewhere.

Download it HERE

thanks to Lervish for the hat model, RazorAce for OJP stuff, The One and Only and MaceCrusherMadunusus for checking it works.

(and I didn't actually put this in the readme, but it should work nicely on macs)

(also somehow I seem to have reached 100 posts??)

How exactly wasn't the file submit page working? I can submit a work order if it's on the networks part.

so it is a coding change? Awe I really wanted to use these in JA+ xD You should seriously consider going to Slider and asking him to implement this mod, where at a certain time of the year people can press a button and have a christmas hat! :)

Yeah, I really don't like the chances of Slider doing that :p Of-course you can just disable your JA+ plugin for the time being. Meh, one day I'll make my own JA+ plugin that will support custom plugins added on-top of it >_>...

really cool idea, and all they have to download is the actual hat, right? And it's automatically put onto all the models?

Well, when I go to Jedi Knight Files - Upload Your Files! , I get the sidebar, header, and footer, but otherwise a blank page.
