Does anyone know if there is a way to put helmet-like sound effects onto existing sound files? You know, make it sound all stormtrooper-ish, like a communicator. I'm making an NPC replacement mod, and I want to know if I can change some of the voice acting, and make it sound like it's being said inside a stormtrooper helmet.
Such a thing probably doesn't exist, but it doesn't hurt to ask. :P
Here's how to do it: First, get a copy of a good audio editor like GoldWave. After that, here's what you do:
1. Using whatever new dialogue you want to create with the helmet type noise, open the file(s) and then go to the Effects pulldown menu; select Filter, then Bandpass/Stop. Select Dynamic and set the Steepness to 2 (you can play around with the number if needed, but 2 should do it). 2. One other thing. Choosing any sound file from the game that has the clicking sound of the Stormtrooper com thing, copy and paste that sound to the beginning and end parts of your new dialogue file, should you want that included in with it.
Presto! You should have new dialogue files that sound like talking through the helmets.
^ Is there a way to do that effect in Audacity?
Maybe, if there's a high-pass filter.
There is ;)
Uh huh, it's a very audacious little app.
I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.
^ Haha, ok. Thanks. :P
If you're using Audacity, try messing around with the WahWah filter(I think that's what it's called)
^ Yeah. :P Ok, I'll look into that. :)
