Hey guys i have differernt problems with my gtk radiant and i was wondering if you guys could help.
first problem is texturing. i can texture bevels and caps properly. people say go into the texture windo and press cap. Thing is in my texture window i only have fit and axial. Nothing else.
second. I made a window and wanted to test how it would look ingame. So i apply the texture press func_glass and then make DETAIL. Thing is it disapears. ingame its there but in gtk its not so i cant edit it or change the texture window.
Third and last problem is with the bevels again. Lets say i want to make the plapatine office. Where the window the ledge is in semi circle. its curves. imagine it top view like this (( well there are two bevels but there is a space between the two and i want a floor between them to fit the missing space and for the player to stand on. it may be hard to understand for this part.
so those are my prblems and thanks in advance ;)

You might just have to use the clipper tool to make a solid brush inbetween the two curves. Make a big square brush and zoom in, them clip the square to make it fit. It will become all segmented and broken up, but you can texture it alright. Just keep in mind that if you make big curves with very few straight lines, it will not look curved.
Ok, you have a version of 1.4 that splits the texture window. So, what you do is press Shift + S instead and that will bring up the Patch Surface Inspector.
Next, Press CTRL + D. Sounds like you have the Detail filter on.
Lastly, you can press Shift + C to get the Patch Caps selection window, and pick the cap that matches what type of patch your using. (e.g. if you picked Bevel, then pick either Bevel or Inverted Bevel in the window, depending on what you need)
edit: ignore last paragraph, this is the tutorial you want:
sorry, I misunderstood what you meant by that.
well thanks a lot guys il try it out now and see wht it gives me, by the way do you know what could be my window problem and also am i better to stay with 1.4 or switch to 1.5 ?
That really depends on who you talk to and what system your working on.
1.5 updated/new tools, 1.4's bugs fixed. Downside, comes with some new bugs. :D 1.4... apparently reliable, but I personally found it to be annoying because of the lack of the new tools and its vertex system pisses me off.
Also, note that a map made in 1.5 that has vertices aligned to grid scales like 0.125 (1.5 only) will be realigned by 1.4 to a higher scale (if saved, will be permanent), sometimes causing brushes to disappear because they become flat or have zero dimension at all. (this limits the compatibility of maps when viewed by others for help)
your window problem.. did the tutorial i posted not help you?
well sometimes i have a problem understanding i tried and it didnt work il see what i can do starting from the tutorial. So thatnks again ;)
I've been meaning to make a video tutorial of that stuff, because it is a little hard to explain. But basically:
take either one of the curves and duplicate it. move the bottom vertices of that new curve and align them with the bottom vertices of the other curve (not the one you duplicated form). Don't worry about the middle or top. Now just drag up/down in Resize mode (q) until it is perfectly flat, and make sure it is aligned with the top of the bevels.
It worked, again thanks a lot for the time and your help. you will soon see my map for the upcoming demo of the mod ;)
You never told us. :D What mod?
sorry. here it is its Tales of the sith lords.
