hey guys i need help to make fog, i want to know how to make thick fog in my map, but not everywhere, i want it to be down the cliff so you wont see the bottum of the cliff when you fall. and if possible i want the fog to be sort of whitish color. The use is for the player so he cant see the bottum of the map. If anyone could help me or give me tutorila son how to place fog in certain places etc it would be appreciated. Thanks :D

making FOg is easy there are mulitple textures in the system textures folder called (example): fog_black.... and some others there's white fog too you just have to create a brush and put that texture on it ;) it will be non-collisional so dont worry about that

and the higher/longer/wider the fog brush is as thicker it looks (sorry for terrible english)

[COLOR=Navy]Umm...The fogs aren't in the system folder :P These are in the 'fogs'. Ohh, and if you wouldn't to see the fog's top, put there system/nodraw texture. [/COLOR]

well thanks, i do understand, just which fog is the best if i want a white one? and also do i need to caulk the sides like i do for water?

[COLOR=Navy]No, you shouldn't. You must to use only nodraw on it, but watch: You can't use three or more nodraw on a fog brush, because then it will be a nodraw brush with fog textures, and the fog won't work. I think you should put more write fog on your map (i.e. what has 'white' in its name), and then see, what do you need ;)[/COLOR]

thanks i did as you mentioned, but now i cant test it ingame, when i load my map it says error 2 sound sets missing, i dont know what it means, i created speakers and doors and added sounds to them, the paths to the sounds are good but what is happening?

Ok worked fine i gound the mistake, i wrote all the path like sound/movers/etc... all i had to do was write door1 haha again thanks for the sound issue and alos i managed to make the fog work though i can find a thick fog that we cant almost see through :(
