I don't get it. I followed the instructions to how to make lava in the tutorial, but every time I tweak something, the lava is either solid or clear. Please help!

If you mean solid as in, you can walk on top of it, simply apply cauk_lava to all unseen surfaces of it. Select only one face at a time with control+shift+click. Caulk_lava is in the common folder.

Be sure the lava texture you choose in radiant got a white border (meaning it's a shader).

By solid, yes, I meant I could walk on top of it- without even getting hurt. I tried applying caulk_lava to all the surfaces except the top(the only surface that will be seen), but it didn't work. Any other ideas?

Does the top shader have the real parameters thats essential for the lava to work?

I was wondering is there a way to make the lava cause disintegration?

Disintegration? Not gonna happen. A slow, gradual death? Sure, func_hurt.

I think he means like the disruptor dissolve effect. I'll look into that; you can tweak this game to do pretty much anything if you try.
