I've created a map object using 3D studio max 9, and I saved it as a scene, for now, I exported it as a xsi model. Now my question is how do I texture the model, and how do I add to jedi academy? Does anybody now how to do that?

If you have ms3d, you can use that to easily import 3ds files and export md3's. I think you can also use gmax, but I don't know anything about it.

With Gmax, you can do everything 3dsmax can do (For JKA) BESIDES animation and rigging. (As far as I remember)

For mapobjects, the process is like this * make the model * texture and uvwmap the model * export the model to md3 using a plugin * import the mapobject to radiant. (if you're using it in a map)

To texture it, you could assign a texture with the material editor (m button), but you would most likely want to uvwmap it. Here's a tutorial about it httpwaylon-art.comuvw_tutorialuvwtut_01.html

I've never heard of any md3-exporter for 3dsmax 9, but maybe the plugin for 3dsmax 8 would work try it out. httpfiles.filefront.commax8pluginszip;9768174;fileinfo.html

If you want to import the model to Gtkradiant, right click in the 2dview and press miscmisc_model and browse for your file (that should be placed at ...gamedatabasemodelsmap_objectsANYFOLDER)

Or you could just import the maxfile to milkshape and export it to a md3

I tried that link but it said that the url was not found. Was it typed wrong or does it not exist.

I'm sorry, both links were messed up (seems like all "/" are gone :uhoh:). Here's the correct ones: UVW-Mapping in 3DS Max max8plugins.zip - FileFront.com
