Well i've been making custom textures (for my map) and the problem is that their not working >.<

I've done as it reads in RichDiesal map source

Spoiler: Show
http://www.richdiesal.map-craft.com/darthg/Textures/tx301lsn1.htm

I've made a folder in textures, tested jpg and tga formats, checked that they are in the folder etc. But when i compile my map the textuers can't be seen :S

(pic of two of my textures): PICTURE

pic of gtkradiant: PICTURE

Could anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong o.O

Because now when Map-craft is down I can't find a tutorial that would help me solve this problem :/

you need to tell what your problem with the textures are, because as far as i can see it all looks fine so what do you want to do with the textures? Do you want to rotate them? Scale them? Or what? do they work in game? or is it just showing grey and white grid? i'm sorry to say this but; i can't see anything wrong with them at all, based on the pictures you provided.

The texture dimensions need to be a power of 2 x power of two.

Your's are 116x116 whereas they should/could be 128x128 (i.e. 2^7 x 2^7). Scale up the textures, put them back in your .pk3 in your Base folder, load up your map in GTKRadiant, refiddle the textures so they don't go all screwy and then compiling and loading in-game.

@Jonny2199: the textures are 128x128, you forgot to click on them to see the full size ,)

@Suolakeksi: are you testing in multiplayer ? did put them into pk3 ? packed with rar ? forgot to switsch to ZIP mode ? :D

What program did you use to make them? When you saved them as a jpg, was there an option for standard/progressive or something like that? I seem to recall reading somewhere that you'll have problems if you choose progressive.

Before you use the /devmap command to load your map you must use the /sv_pure 0 command in the console first, otherwise custom textures will not load as the game does not recognise texture files that are not in a .pk3. Once you have packed your map into a .pk3 file you no longer need to do this. I hope that helps!

Lol, forgot about that sv_pure must be set to 0 if you haven't made a .pk3 file yet of your map xD

Thanks Nozyspy :gpost::thumbsup:
