Ok!! Yeah! Sorry for the noobness, but! How do I change a weapons name? I need to know because I got this M4A1 "Pulsar Rifle" and it say's it's an Imperial Heavy Repeater or somesorts like that. And since I'm a real big fan of the "Pulsar Rifle" from AvP2, and there was one for Jedi Academy, I was like  hehe.. Oh yeah, I also got pissed with the sounds it came with. Sounded low quality, so I got some sound FX from the "SoundFX" website, and I found a pretty good one! So all I need to know now is how do I change the weapons name? Yeah.., I think Jedi Outcast is easier to edit and change stuff around.. Hehe.. I even checked the little mod thing I did on Jedi Outcast. What did I change, and it was the "sp_ingame.sp" file for the Jedi Outcast mod. But there isn't a file like that for Jedi Academy. Please help!! :)

Search the strings folder.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

Can you be more specific? I currently only found:

REFERENCE KILLED_REPEATER NOTES "Death message, repeater" LANG_ENGLISH "was riddled by"

That code.. And I dont see any Imperial Heavy Repeater there.. Just death messages.. :(

EDIT: Haha, I'm soo stupid.. I found it.. it's the same name as Jedi Outcast just in the Strings folder, not the exc_data or something like that.. Sorry!

I could have sworn weapon names were designated in the strings, but I'm probably thinking Unreal Tournament....

In that case it'll be in one of the .menu or .ui files. I think it's ui_ingame.menu, or ingame.ui or... something like that. Sorry I can't be more specific, it's hard trying to remember all those filenames offhand, and the fact that it's past midnight doesn't help. :uhm:

Well if you want it done, you best learn some coding skills. I just recently had to replace E-11 blaster to say Thompson Machine Gun.

You don't need any coding knowledge to rename the weapons.

You will NEVER need to change a weapon's name within the code - in fact, I doubt you even can change it from within the code. The game draws all menu text from the .menu, .ui and .string files, not from the code itself.

Thats true, You can rewrite any menu/weapon/force power etc. name without coding.
