Hi all.Its a stupid question AGAIN.So I wanted to ask that how do I make a map prefab?real stupid? + Which software do I use and in which format? and any thing which is important. So PLEASE help a n00b(CURRENTLY). With Regards, ~Darth Mak~.
GTKRadiant. Save it as a .MAP (standard normal file type if you just click 'save') and then you can choose to File>Import into another map in GTKRadiant. Useful if someone has made something you want in your map such as a spaceship, or if you've made something that you'd like to place gratuitously e.g. if you have made some buildings that you want to dot around the place or use in another map.
Or are you talking about an .ASE converter? If so, http://jediknight3.filefront.com/file/map_to_ase_Converter_Utility;76011 rawr. Just save it as a .map and place it in there, also make your ur q3map2 is set right!!
in 1.4 you can save selection as prefab if you want something specific from a map you made. Probably 1.5 too I don't know.
oh....thnx alot guys....but what about .ASE converter?what is that used for?
An ASE Converter is for if you want a misc_model in your map. It converters your map into a .ASE file and then you can select it as a model.
ohh....so we can then view our model in ModView, rite?or in some other program....
I think exporting brushes as pure brushes and importing them is a much cleaner way compared to ASE models =/
Depends on what your using it for :p imo
