lights have always been akward for me, since i know excellent mappers dont pump rooms full of like 5 lights, but how could i make an entire map light, with shadows and without having it ambient (that'd remove the shadows and be very ugly) please reply.

A good question - one I've been looking into myself. I haven't done a lot of work and testing on this, but I think I'm onto something with "sun" lights. In your sky shader, you can specify a sun, set it's brightness, pitch, yaw and color, and add ambient light. Read through the shaders in skies.shader, then do a bit of research through google. I've yet to use a sun shader successfully, but I haven't tried all that much. If you get it to work well, please post your findings :)

[EDIT] Of course, I may be completely wrong and lots of normal lights are still the way to go. However, in bright outside maps I doubt that's so.

thanks for all the help, i have entity, suns, any they've worked okay..... just a huge working light pointed in a direction, but i've used 3 and they seem to work alright, but there are places, like on one side of a wall, that just aren't lit up, then i put in indivdual lights and blah blah blah i like shadows and all but its shadow was ON The wall and that annoyed me, happend in other places too

well this wont help u out at all, but i dont know what i did, maybe it was the way i bsped, but about 2 or 3 times, when i tested my map, it like jsut in the mapping program, no shadows, same lighting in everthing room equal, so say.. maybe it was how i bsped it, but i did it by mistake...

and dur, can u plz reply on the PM i sent yea a few days ago
