Can someone please give a link to a tutorial on how to make parts of a skin invisible? I already tried this link http://www.planetquake.com/polycoun...shaders-3.shtml but I couldn't follow it. I know that I have to make an alpha layer, but I can't seem to figure that out. Help please.

I'm not sure if this answers your question.... but in the .skin file, find the part(s) you want, and replace the folder name with "*off" (no quotes). Hope that helped...

Thats all fine and dandy, but if you're having to use cloak, you can still see the parts that're turned off. EDIT: I actually went and tested this: if you turn everything off, saber trails show up, meaning idle sabers will make you visible XD

You do not need alpha channels to make a cloaked texture, all you need is a simple shader applied to the texture.

The problem is that I can't seem to make a saber hilt invisible. I just can't seem to make an alpha layer. I must sound like a moron.

Actually, even if you do not want the cloaked shader, you can still make something invisible with a shader and without using alpha channels, simply assign the texture a wrong path in a shader.

Okay, I read all your posts and followed insturctions, but it is hopeless. Can someone give me a step by step on how to do this please? I'm trying to make an invisible lightsaber hilt, not the blade, not a player skin, but an invisible hilt. Could someone please show me how? Or could someone make one for me? Either one please.
