I seriously need one! I've made almost ALL of the availible resources so far! I think my first file for JK3files should be my new TFU HUD. I started making it during a fabricated contest in the, "Yet another TFU HUD..." thread. I think I've come very close to making the best HUD, and I've come VERY close to perfecting it! I want to know, however... How does one implement it into the game, for that use? It will be a relatively small hud, which is the only problem, but boy is the detail astounding! attachment.php?attachmentid=71051&stc=1&d=1250566215 There it is! My almost PERFECT TFU HUD!!! I can't wait to get to using this in my game, and sharing it with the rest of the JK3 community! Sure, it's not COMPLETELY true to TFU, because some things WERE changed, but they had to be, in order to get it working for JKA, and I think I did it..! for heaven's sake... Please don't steal this work of mine... I'd hate to see it just plain robbed from under me, and with someone else's name on it, because I've put SO much effort into this one...

Estimated time..? an hour, PROBABLY less... Program used..? Drumroll please..!

*DRUMROLL* MS PAINT. And people said that good HUDs couldn't be done in that crapped on constantly program..! I ask a favor, of Mikouen, if you could possibly right click protect this..? I want to make sure it's safe... I just wanted to preview my work to others, and get some way to get a tutorial, in order to make it a HUD for JKA, and all the people who needed a true-to-TFU HUD for JKA, but wanted to see the numbers count and so on. No photosourcing done..! I just used a reference from a pic/screenshot, and made it from scratch above the picture..! Credits to loda for unknowigly supplying me with a reference, and Authuran for giving me a reason to see who could make a superior TFU HUD..! And for future reference, credits to whomever gives me the HUD implementation tutorial. Much kudos to you, whoever you are! And finally, to boast my ego a little more, credits to me for making the darned thing. Years of practice in MS-paint have made this possible. Comments wanted..!

Nice HUD, I can't say anything about accuracy, but it looks like it's worth using. It does seem a bit flat though, maybe a bit of shine through the middle of the health bar would help, I don't know.

Well, obviously it's meant to be practical. Fake shine sucks anyways. The JKA HUD doesn't shine, now does it..? I have GOT to get a tutorial to get this thing whipped up and ready to go..! Credits to Rogueboy for giving me a reason to even start working on a TFU HUD..!

that really is amazing, my only suggestion is maybe upping the source resolution (should be pretty easy since its just painted) because some people like to play on ridiculously high resolutions and wouldnt want their hudfiles "stretched up".

only tutorial i know is this one posted by forceboat in another thread Expanded Banana Productions :: View topic - How to make custom huds by Se7enraven.

you WILL have to ditch paint at somepoint to create alpha-layers, i think.

im not really sure how i feel about the flat colors thing... i'd have to see it ingame to be sure. but i think i will like it.

The only problem I could possibly forsee is size, and lack of visibility. It is rather small... Alpha channels also can NOT be done in paint, even though the base work can be.

well you could make it appear a bit bigger onscreen ofcourse in the .hud file, but still the text is a bit small compared to the whole thing... maybe you could like increase the text size and have the side of the HUD jut out to account for that....if you really wanted. however I think its alright though as it is.

BTW where is the forcepoints bar? Also why did you change the way you display saber-style from the other thread. if you can only have 1 saber style selected at a time, why have each one take up only part of the area?

I changed the saber style thingy to again, stay true to JKA. JKA's standard HUD has the styles in different spots on the menu, so I saw it fit to do the same thing with it. The force points bar is the blue one, naturally. The blue bar is quad segmented, like the ammo and health bar. To my best knowledge, and memory... That was the bar for The Force in TGU anywhom. If somehow, it was not..? Well, it's one of the main game functions besides health anywhom, so it makes sense.

HOLY... CRAP... I forgot shields! NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Armor and health can be combined, just take a look at v4 of Rogueboy's hud or ask him how to do it.

ah ic... i still much prefer your original way of having the saber-style setup though... maybe keeping it segmented like this, but also keeping each segment always visible and color changing would work?

lol shields.. oh well, V2 time.

I've begun work on making a shield bar, but it will take a little while. It's a new bar on the HUD, and it may not quite be a true TFU HUD anymore... Except for possibly combining shields and health, even though there ARE cases where that is problematic, such as taking falls... But...

I think this new bar is looking good so far. It blends in quite nicely..!
