Hmm, why dont you surround the globe with seating? Like a colloseum type thing. I mean it doesnt have to be connected to anything to have seats around it.
ya than it would hide the skybox also
Ok, I've been fiddling around for the last few days and looking at some screens from FFX, I then decided I needed to make some parts of the map a bit more like the actual thing, so I started with the scoreboard (and the goal):
So, if there's anything you want me to put in it from FF, find a screen and tell me! Also, I'd really appreciate it if someone could find a half decent pic of the stands in a blitzball stadium (kinda at a loss as what to make them look like in the map).
i could give you tons of screens which stadium are u going for luca or zanerkind?
I was thinking on the luca side, the zanarkand stadium is just huge and really detailed.
I was thinking on the Luca side, the Zanarkand stadium is just huge and really detailed. Also, chances are, I'll make the Luca stadium in a separate map because the current sphere is way too big to really fit a stadium like that around. That brings me to the next problem: where to put the stands, the thing is, I want the stands to surround the sphere, but I also want them half way up (in line with the goal) but I don't want it to look completely out of place. I really need ideas on this bit as I'm completely lost as to what to do.
These are the 2 Idea I have right now, the only problem is, the first would have to be pretty large to reach up to the middle, and the second wouldn't need to have so many seats but might look pretty weird....
(sorry for double post but I got caught out by the 30 minute edit rule :()
Thanks for the screens (and the vid). The thing is, I can't make the sphere any rounder because GTK won't let me :( I could try doing it with patch mesh's which would make it near perfectly spherical, however, the only way I could fill it with water would be to have it so there was a large polyhedron (like the current sphere) which filled the patch mesh sphere, but it would also spill outside.
(that pretty much sounds like jibberish so here's a pic of what I mean) :
Currently I'm using the first example. In both cases you'd be confined to the blue (well, teal really, but thats another story) part while playing, however, because the polyhedron sticks outside the sphere in the second one, you'd get a border made of water outside the sphere, so if you got too close you'd end up swimming. However, you would not be able to see the water, only feel the effects.
Also, I'll probs end up having to create a new map for the Luca stadium :).
