i have a map no sound :/ (first map but anyways i have a full wall and it isnt letting me join reply if you can look at this

when i try to do devmap "Runny" (the name) it says unknown map

right, the problem is remarkably simple.

when you start JKA, open the console before clicking menus or anything, then type "sv_pure 0" (ignoring the "")

Then "devmap runny" (again ignoring the "")

Did you try compiling the map first? There are some tutorials about mapping in the Tutorials sticky.


I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

compile it first... otherwise it won't work

And just do a bsp compile. That way it won't take too long, though you're going to want to do a full compile before releasing it. Like Kouen said, check the sticky. Very helpful.

That's where almost every mapper for JA (and probably some for other Q3 Engine games) learned. There's a link in the Tutorials sticky on the top of this forum.
