Rawr, I've been trying to put this

rifle2.jpg

into JKA as a E11 replacement so I exported to gmax and then imported the e11 blaster into gmax too but:

1. Its on an angle? 2. Its cut in half, also on an angle?

And finally, I don't see how I can align my gun without moving the tags to fit it, because that would interfere with gameplay and I don't want to do that / nor do I think its even possible.

So, since I don't ever want to make gun models* really (make the guns, but not to get them ingame) can I ask someone to take the gun for me and get it ingame as e11 replacement?

Thanks!

*I may need to soon, but since it will be covered by other people and my skills aren't there, I don't want to waste time learning

This model has so much potential :(. Just that JKA isn't a really good game. Not anymore. You can't make new weapons and you have to make replacements of old ones instead. It would have been a really nice sniper or heavy repeater replacement. :(

Hey, the JKA system isn't bad, remember that this was made in 2003, not 2009. It was completely comparable with other video games of the time.

Just match your gun to the angle of the E11, or rotate the tags to fit yours. I did a few weapon replacements(never released) and thats what I did. As for the tags, you should be fine moving them for your gun. As long as the needed tags are present, there shouldnt be a problem. They really only tell the game where the hand goes, and where the stuff shoots out/flashes come from. I believe you have to replace all the md3s and glms to get the weapon to work in all views, though. Just keep trying it. The first time is gonna suck, but you'll thank yourself in the future if you ever need to do it again.

What kind of angle are we talking about? Pictures, man, pictures! How hard is it to hit your printscreen button? Exporting weapons into JKA IS NOT HARD. If you can't bother "learning", then I think there's no place for you in the modding world. Yes, it's wonderful that you decided to make something, but horrible that you don't want to put in a little bit more effort.

Why not try re-aligning the model so it's straight and mess with the tags?

All I see in that model is a shiny skin and a scope. Perhaps posting a wireframe/other shots would help with lightning.

All I see you doing is inserting a random comment about the game, instead of trying to give advice/criticisms to the author. This is about not wanting to put effort into getting a model into a game, not about how dated the game is.

The same person that decided that text on a screen was "speaking" in a technical sense.

The OP is complaining that importing his/her gun into the game is too hard, when in reality it just takes a bit of tweaking to get everything set up right. It can be a matter of importing a pre-existing model and matching up orientations, moving tags around, mixed with a bit of trial and error.

So for right now I'm waiting for more information so the OP could be helped.

Think of it as...running a mile and not wanting to run the last 1/10 because you're tired.

Want a cookie? Because I'm sure I could cook up a couple for you. Unfortunately, I'm fresh out of CARE.

Edit: Just saw your comment on the gun compilation tutorial Pande. You can move the tags around all you want. For example, all "tag_flash" does is tell the game where to have the blaster bolt effect start. There are a few other tags, one of which determines where the gun is held by your character. If you're unsure, fool around with them. Moving the tags won't make the world implode. Trial and error can be fun!

Calm down zach.

Now, " Originally Posted by Silent_Blade viewpost.gif This model has so much potential sad%20%28frown%29.gif. Just that JKA isn't a really good game. Not anymore. What does that have to do with either what Silent Blade said OR lightning? Why would you want a wireframe?

ANYWAY. Watch your words too: "If you can't bother "learning", then I think there's no place for you in the modding world. "

I'm an experienced mapper (main)/skinner/modeler who happened to make the DLT-20A on a whim and then wanted it ingame, but I am NOT a weapon expert. I've only ever touched sabers and whatnot. But seriously, 1 gun from someone who only understands getting maps ingame isn't a big deal.

I would just like someone who knows what their doing and can get it done in 30 minutes. I'm not asking them to make 30 guns for me, just 1, and I only made the gun for the model, not cuz I wanted it ingame originally. Its going to take me longer to do and I'm not going to revisit those skills anyway, I'd rather chug ahead on my map than waste time blurrily looking at gmax.

Also to second post by Silent: its replacing e11 cuz of type of fire it does, which is a Rifle not a spray-n-play, and it isn't a sniper due to size and the barrel. But whats all this about JKA being old, whats that got to do with it. :S

So please...just some compiled .md3's and glm's. I can do the shaders, .wep files, .strings, all the stuff that makes it good, but I'll leave the compiling of models to those who know what their doing.

I see your having the same problem as I had when I've started with my Lego E11 modelo the model which is cut un half is used for the ego perspective themain gun model is a glm file I can convert the glm to md3 for you
