Pande;4966254 I'm an experienced mapper (main)/skinner/modeler who happened to make the DLT-20A on a whim and then wanted it ingame, but I am NOT a weapon expert. I've only ever touched sabers and whatnot. But seriously, 1 gun from someone who only understands getting maps ingame isn't a big deal.

I guess I went a little bit overboard. Anyways, have a good time on your map.

Hmm I may be able to get this straight if I can resolve one thing: why can the tabs be moved? If you move the flash effect (which if I understand from both the e11 model and Zach's explanation) that moves where the laser comes out too? So wouldn't that make the gun void in sv_pure 1 servers? Yet, I've downloaded say the clone rifle and it is fine. Did that model have its tags moved? Anyway I will try and whatnot.

Oh and Ashura since you've modded the blaster: what is blaster_1 and _2? Do I need to replace them too?

Edit again... what does tag_weapon do? :) Is it where the hand goes, or perhaps that should go in the middle of the model for drop-on-ground physics?

Edit again... 2... when I import blaster_hands, I just get two tags just like the other ones but this time the e11 isn't there and the tags aren't in the same place as they were in the other 3 blaster types.

So, do I just align the gun again or do I need to do something fancy at this point?

As I understand the tags are cosmetic.

I'm not entirely sure, as I don't have (haven't had for years) the game installed, but I believe models such as blaster_1 and blaster_2 are there so if you wanted, you could have a firing 'animation'. (Think repeater, it switches between two models so it seems like the barrel is moving back and forward). Further information: I believe blaster_1/2 are your first person versions of the model, while the GLM is the model seen in third person.

You will need to do this for each form of the weapon (that means for the GLM, and any MD3s you see in the directory - the MD3s are the first-person views). Move your model to be roughly the same size and position of the original blaster model. Once you are confident it is in place you may delete the original blaster model, but keep its tags! The tags are the small triangles. If any of them start with an asterisk (*) you will need to replace it with "tag_". So for instance if you had the tag "*flash" you would need to change it to "tag_flash".

So, import old model, align new one with old, delete old, adjust tags.

Speaking of the repeater... Why does the 1st person model look so poor in comparison to the 3rd person model? The 3rd person model looks like a badass, but the 1st person looks like poo-poo. I can't find a good repeater replacer, sniper replacer, pistol replacer... Nothin'.

It could be the viewpoint, angle of the model (it sticks waaay out).

As for a replacement...I think there was a Halo Fuel Rod Gun on pcgamemods, but it must have been lost with the website. This was years ago, as well.

The fuel rod doesn't fit ANY role in JKA...

Whatabout a blaster replacement? The guy who made the "Super detailed" scout trooper has shots of luke with a VERY generic blaster. Where can I get that?

for an e-11 replacement you need just 2 tags a tag flash and a tag_parent blaster_1 & _2 are for the shooting animation, yes the e-11 has own anims for the ego perspective , you should change them cause if you dont you'll still see the e-11 sometimes in ego perspective

here's the E-11 glm file as 3ds file ,the glm file includes the complete blaster model which is used for third person and as item in missions : Send big files the easy way. Files too large for email attachments? No problem!

Well, first of all I saw NO tag_parents in any of the .md3s.. second, whats an ego perspective? :S You sure you got the wording right? Lastly, I can't open .3ds. :P Still would just like someone who knows what their doing to take it and get it done in like 5 minutes like they can. :D

Ego islatin and means I so Ego Perspective is the same a s first person :o sorry i forgot that not everybody's learning latin at school :D

it's not a 3ds max file ! Its a Autodesk 3ds geometry file Gmax can import that , asfar as I know blender can do that too
