.....for our clan. All I need it to include is a duel like area and 6or 7 bedrooms with plauqes on the outside of each. Who ever does this for me will have a everlasting slave:bows: .(And if its not as hard as I think it is a small NPC room) I would do this myself, but I am a terrible map maker.

Xylax, your signature is too big. Please resize it to be within 800x160 pixels. Thank you.

That sig sounds like corporate BS to me.

Radiant is the weakest editor available. >_>

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

Any editors better than Radiant are not JKA compatible - Q3 engine and D3 engine are frankly dated and obsolete engines, hence they have dated and obsolete software. If you want to get into creating realistic worlds, JKA and other Quake 3/Doom 3 engine games are not the games to be mapping for - because the engines just aren't advanced enough for it.

Radiant's capabilities with terrain and lighting are poor, it doesn't have much in the ways of advanced architecture (not counting modelling in 3DS Max), weather and environmental effect capabilities are poor at best, and the texturing tools aren't up to scratch - to name a few drawbacks. Then there's the engine's limitations and weaknesses on top of Radiant's apparent flaws, all of which mean that even if Radiant could handle higher-end tasks along those lines, not a single one of the Radient-supported games would be powerful enough to render the finished result.

If you want to see an editor worthy of that little passage in your sig, take a look at the Maya-based UnrealEd, preferably the version supplied with Unreal 2. It's far from being the best, but it's the best editor freely available to the general modding public.

So, you want a better editor? Find a better engine. The Q3 engine is right at the bottom of the food chain.

I strongly disagree, you just need to know how to do it, no one seems to realize how powerful the q3 engine really is, if you just know how to use it well.

I'm not saying it's not powerful - I'm merely commenting on how it's the lower-end game engine compared to it's competition. There's no hiding the fact that it's dated.

Can you honestly turn round and say Q3 engine has superior modding capabilities over other engines like Source and Unreal3?

the q3 engine is capible of alot, its just never been using its full potialy, my programming teacher told me this, when i started work on the CV mod, however it is limited to its design, however if it was coded better it'd be doing alot, the JK engines are varients of the Q3 with some better lighting effects and higher resolutions higher polies etc, but ya if you want to do realist then go for a new program but newer isn't usually easy either.
