i'm tryng to do my first sword model... the model is done (after a lot of tests and hours)

it is this doomswordshotsc0.png

now i have a problem... to do this sword i've followed iniry forge simple sword modellign tutorial, in this tutorial he uses "texporter plugin" to create an image with the UV maps, but i have 3ds max 8 not 7 so texporter on my version dont work

i've read on a website that texporter functionalities are already implemented on 3ds max 8 but i don't know how to use them

someone can explain me how can i texutirze my model with 3ds max8?

Jose Carlos

Why? Cause normal is boring.

Go to the UVW Unwrap modifier, then open the UVW window. Under tools you'll find "Render UVW template". There you set the size of the image and do any other adjustments you like. After you render it, save it and you're done. Also, there is a texporter plugin for Max 8.

It's in the Jedi Academy Multiplayer SDK, I trust you know where to find that (JKFiles -> Jedi Academy -> Utilities -> Modding Tools).

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.

It's not in the zip file, the zip file only contains the installer. You're supposed to run the .exe file, and when it has installed the SDK, MD3View will be in with the rest of the SDK's files, right beside ModView.

Scratch that, I think you got the Unofficial SDK, Inyri moved the official one into the Official Releases category at some point in the last year or so. This is the SDK you need. The other one is crap. >_>

I just did in that last post. See where the word "this" is underlined? That's your link.
