Hi Dudes and Dudettes (?) I have a question about some music, I am using MCM 1.08, and I am trying to play some of my music in game (SP) but for some reason it doesnt work, I have converted it to an mp3 file and its has 44100 (something), and 128 kb/s (something) its stereo as music in game shoul be, and it doesnt have the variable bit-rate thing, so it should work right, but when I try to use MCM, it says in a message at the top: Unable to find music "nameofmysong.mp3" as explicit track or dynamic music entry! nameofmysong.mp3 I can probably PM you the song, if that would help you better, but its kinda crappy since I used an unregistered version of AVS audio editor, and that leaves some kind of comercial-thingy every whatever second, (didnt have time to find some other audio editor, I was just trying this for fun to see if it worked) hope you can help me, and sorry if someone else has asked about this, didnt look through the forum. sorry if my english is not so good, I am from Denmark.

First try this to see if the mp3 really is to blame: In your base, create a folder named music and put your mp3 there, then in game go to the console and enter "music music/nameofmysong".

BTW: have you tried audacity, yet? It's great IMO and can be combined with lame for mp3 endcoding (I've never had problems playing mp3's thus created in jk2/jk3, even at the highest bit rate).

thank you very much guys, I got it working now, I think I have found out the problem, it was because I had my music packed as an pk3, instead, of as a simple folder inside the basefolder, but that leads to another question, is it not possible to pack my music as a pk3 (nameofpk3.pk3/music/nameofsong.mp3) and still have it working. also there is a guide in one of the stickies that tells how to add music to the main menu (SP), and I have followed it down to the smallest step, but its not working for me, could you please explain it to me in another way.

sry for double post, I tried that ultra utility-thing, and I got it working (not that dumb :p) still its not because I want to hear it for myself, I mean its also so I can hear it myself, but im planning to release my "mod"/add-on as an music-pack, so it would be dumb to say here are the songs, oh and you have to download ultra utility to hear them ingame, what I want is to release my work as an pk3 + some scripts from music changer maker, so that people will just have to place the pk3, and 2 files in they're base directory to be able to hear a selection of songs from the show One Piece, in game, then later if I get good enough at real modding I will also make a One Piece mod, to follow with it. even if there is only 1 one piece-fan other than me out there waiting for something like this, I'd say it would still be worth the work. sry got a little carried away there.

I had same problems like you and its cause the author of mtm wrote really bad description how to use his problem,he didnt write any example :uhoh:.God bless Mikouen who helped me alot :) .I found out for ultra utility v3.16 today by accidentaly when i saw boba's message ^^.For me uu is much better cause it has media player who plays song with quality like windows media player, and you dont have to compress songs.

the_onepiece-man;4751899t is it not possible to pack my music as a pk3 (nameofpk3.pk3/music/nameofsong.mp3) and still have it working.

I am using that method  - music.pk3/music/nameofsong.mp3 and i wrote music/nameofsong(without .mp3) in 'file path' in program.

Of course you can also put the mp3 in a pk3; I just wanted you to put it directly in your base folder to rule out other reasons why it didn't work. So it seems your mp3 is ok after all, right?

Now, I didn't quite understand what you exactly want to achieve. Do you want to be able to play/change the music on keystroke (like with the MCM), or have it played automatically with specific maps, or as a menu background music, or what? Rest assured, you don't need the UU for any of this. The UU facilitates playing your favourite music while playing MP, it's not meant to build sound mods (correct me if I'm wrong, Boba).

^ well I want to be able to change between the different songs, but I know how to do that with MCM, the problem is, that I have tried severel times to make an pk3, then inside the pk3 I make a folder called music, then inside that folder I put all of my songs. then when I try to use MCM (with the correct path and title) to change between my songs or just play the first, i says in the top left corner: "Unable to find music "nameofmysong.mp3" as explicit track or dynamic music entry! nameofmysong BUT when I just go in my base folder and create a folder inside that named music and put my songs in there (jka/gamedata/base/music) instead of in a pk3 (jka/gamedata/base/music.pk3/music) it doesnt write the message. sry if im writing long an unclear sentences, im a little tired, but here it is put simple: just folder named music (w/songs) in basefolder=works. music packed as an pk3 file= doesnt work. thats what I really whant help with. oh my goal is as said before to pack the music as an pk3 along with a MCM script file, that makes u able to change between music. and then publish that work as a music-pack for others to download and hear while they're playing.
