Hi people! I've been working on my own character for the last week, and after doing some skinning etc. i found myself still not pleased with it.... It misses a small and elegant cape. I have no idea how to make one. My brother tried it with his 3dStudio Max progam, and it looked great, but JA didn't accept it. Now my brother is a busy person, and i cant brig myself bugging him with my request to find some way to do it anyway.... So thats why i'm here today ^^ I was wondering if anybody could help me out making a model for me with a elegant cape. My Skinned model is fully based on the original Twilek-female model. It's the idea that one of her tentacles is wrapped around her neck, while the other hangs back over the cape. The cape shouldn't be as broad as Darth Vader's cape, but more slender. If somebody could make this model for me, or tell me how to edit it myself, i would be very thankfull. My brother has both 3D Studio Max and that Ghoul2 Plugin installed already, but like i said he has very little time to make it so that JA would accept it, and i get dizzy just watching all those buttens and thingy's in that program. Who could help this lady in distress ? ^^ Greetzz, Alissa

Making a player model is more in-depth than just adding a cape and exporting back to GLM. You must re-add the skeleton, re-weight and re-rig it, then compile it to XSI then compile to GLM. There are tutorials here if your brother doesn't know how to do it.

Not if you're trying to make a player model.

There's no need to modify the skeleton. It's the mesh you're talking about, and unfortunately it's not possible to just modify a mesh. Modifying a mesh would be just like making one from scratch - all the proper steps still must be taken.

tfighter, go play with matches. its perfectly possible to edit the skeleton, however, you will have to re-make all 200+ of the games animations or it wont work in game. editing the mesh to have a cape is simple enough, anyone with half a brain can do that. re-weighing is a pain in the ass, and can take a while if your not practiced at it. but theres plenty of tutorials out there that will help you learn how. and after that, compiling is pretty easy, just watch the model in modview, and check how its weighed, make sure theres not a massive amount of distortion and stuff. it takes a while, but you can learn easy enough. and if you do it yourself, youll feel much better about the final product than if someone else does it. because its something YOU made.
