ok, a few years ago i started my own little project of a fun little SP mod.

however, things happened and i got distracted. you know how it is. anyway, a few days ago i started poking around my JKA files and decided to continue making it.

my problem is this, no matter what i do, be it with the npc files, or the sabers themselves (ive double and triple checked the sabers) the npcs dont seem to understand that ive given them 2 sabers for a reason!

example? ive given one npc the light-disc saber. (yes, its overpowered, i like a challenge) in fact, ive given him 2. at first, he would hold both, but only use one. (using medium saber style) now, after tweaking the .sab file, he hold both, moves as if hes using both (so, dual style) but still, only one of them is turned on, leaving a gaping hole in his defences. i know in the past ive had an npc with one of these in each hand, but now it just seems to not want to know.

another example, slightly more perplexing, is another npc to whom i gave a single lightsaber in his left hand, and the "single lightsaber staff" in the other. (basically a staff hilt with the type specified as single.

this one gets really odd. once again, the left hand saber doesnt even get switched on. whereas the single staff saber in his right hand, isnt even there! not even the hilt. ive tried specifying a different hilt model, but to no avail. leaving this npc with NO active saber blades at all, depsite running around and moving his arms in the dual saber style.

its probably something really mundane im forgetting, cuz its been a few years since i even thought about npc making.

any help would be great thanks. it seems no matter what i do, these npcs wont use thier off hand saber. (the npcs are made using spanki's sith customization pack, if that makes any difference)

well heres the NPC file for one of them. this one refuses to turn on his off hand saber...

ive since done some tests, and from what i can tell, all the other models can dual weild sabers perfectly fine. could it be a flaw wit hthe models themselves? is that even possible?

so your having trouble with thatmodel and dual saber style ... ? well are you sure it was made for JKA and not for JO ? JO models often have problems with dual and staff style

try restricting all other saber styles for them by making a custom .sab file for the dual sabers intended

im 100% certain its for JKA. i got the modelpack from the JKA filefront, and its even got the parts to use in the SP character creation menu (a feature that, obviously, want in JKO)

as for restricting the styles.... ive managed to get all of the models in question to use the dual saber style, that isnt really the problem, thepriblem is they move thier arms around in the dual saber style, but they only have one saber turned on at the time.

I've never come across anything like that in the past, and I still can't see how that makes any sense. If it had something to do with the animation, it might be understandable that JK2 models couldn't wield them properly. But since this is a case of the actual saber not turning itself on... I'm not sure.

I've gotta say though, I never knew you could set up the playermodel like you did, as in: playerModel jedi_sithspanki3 customSkin head_c8|torso_c3|lower_b6

So if you still can't get it to work after using this NPC file, try making a new modelfolder, pick out the textures you want for your skin, and write a new model_default.skin file. It doesn't really make any sense if this fixes your problem either, but it's worth a shot *shrugs*.

ive had a look around the JKA filefront at the comments left on the page for the modelpack im using. turns out im not the only one with this issue. nobody can get them to dual weild. so i guess its not a problem with my npc/sab files, its the models and whoever made them.... gotta say.... pretty big flaw... its not even mentioned in the readme file o.0

Seriously? I don't get how the model has anything to do with whether the lightsaber is on or off. It just doesn't make sense :/

i know, i havent a clue how its happened either. but the fact that its not just me, its everyone who downloaded it means i cant come to anyo other conclusion.

its a shame really, cuz the models are really good. i really wanted to use them, but unless the author releases a v2 with that bug fixed, i cant really use any of my more "interesting" saber setups.
