Rule #7: Never plan on not redoing anything, because according to Murphy's Law, if something can go wrong then it will go wrong.
This is always true in modding. So it's best to be prepared to go back over and redo stuff.... you're gonna be redoing stuff anyway, so you may as well brace yourself so that you're simply "redoing stuff" rather than "redoing stuff and being extremely pissed off about it".
I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.
The architecture looks very nice.
As for the coloring, you might think it to be too tron-like, but maybe some (reasonably restrained) glowy strips would provide a good contrast to the metal? (say light blue or something, e.g., in place of the darker metal in the design just above the platform).
(obviously, if it doesn't fit in with your ideas, just ignore it)

its also states "If there's more than one possible outcome of a job or task, and one of those outcomes will result in disaster or an undesirable consequence, then somebody will do it that way" so i guess he is the someone :p Anyways, nice design so far but im in agreeance that to post opinions welcome and then not take on board the opinions offered when the color's used make such a big difference to the impression of quality is a poor choice, the end result will be that your map would look and feel dull and in my experience even if only one area of a map is this way then it can leave an impression on the player regardless of the rest of the map.

I guess I'm being misunderstood. The spawn area is final, and will most likely not change significantly. The antechamber is not done (as marked), and is going to be modified significantly before I'm done.
My 'gimmic', you could say, is an ethereal atmosphere. Each room will have a distinctly different feel. The spawn area is confused, dark. The antechamber is sterile, cold. The following room will be forboding, menacing.
I'll post more shots as I get more done, thanks for the suggestions, I'll look back at them as I get stuff finalized!
