More specifically how many OBJECTS a weapon model can be in, for example in hatrus's gun project teaser he has several models which are very detailed (some exceding 2000 polys O.o) and i noticed to do this he made his model like 6 peices or 15 peices, i was just wondering if theres a limit? I know there's a limit to how many polys on an object (by the way those models exceed max_qpath but work ingame) but objects?

I hope 15 peices works <.< because I made a disruptor rifle which is 15 peices (based on the one in the Essential Guide to Weapons and Technology ones)

I'm not sure, there is of course a poly limit of 1000 for each piece, or it wont work, but other than that I dunno. A friend of mine, dunno if he's right or not, says there is no limit to how many pieces you can use, as long as each one is 1000 or less in poly's. I tested this and got a whopping 9000 poly's in a model for an experiment.

Soooooo you can create really highly detailed models itll just be a right pain to get them alll together and skin them and make them and UVW map them and all that? What about player models?

no less than 9 segments (head, torso, left arm, left hand, right arm, right hand, hips, left leg, right leg). you can sub-segment those further if you like, or if your adding hair or robes or whatever, you can make those additional segments.

I believe the maximum you can have before it has an aneurism is 32 (or somewhere around there). Any more than that and you'll get an error - I have gotten it before when using models with many small parts - easiest thing to do is just merge them together and stay under the 1000 poly limit.
