N-7;4880691Nab sure knows what bump mapping is. The question is how to achieve fake bump mapping with shaders on this engine.

Nice find, Silver.

Does anyone have some sort of before and after shot of this in use? I'm curious to see how/if it works.

So bump mapping does require extra textures. Out of the question, then...at least, for now.

'[LA-Silver;4880682']4096? Overkill.. I think you'll make the engine crash eventually if you have 10 x 4096 maps in there.

And why's that?

No offense, but don't take an attitude like that until you've tried it. Most people would be very surprised what this game can do. Have you seen Atlantica or Midgar v3? Both maps take 5-10 minutes to load because of the massive amounts of textures used.

Like I said, the only resource this would use up is video memory. As long as you have enough of that, I see no problems with a high-res pack. :-D

This is a great idea(if it works), this reminded me to test some hi res textures on jka (4000,2000 size textures) ;)
