Ok ive made a mod in my spare time which AALLOOTT of hard work went into. It basically adds lots and lots off VERY good mods, skins, models and maps (like SJC's maps) together and other things to create a big professional mod. The point im trying to get to is that, ive edited some of the skins/maps/mods etc slightly so that they either fit in with the rest of the mod or ive edited them to make minor improvements (like character pics and map start up screens). Having edited other peoples mods slightly and mixing them together to create a big mod, would I be able to post this on the internet on, say filefront or the jk3files website without being banned and kicked if i say a thanks to all the people who created the things in this mod, and for them to send me their names so that i can include them in the credits?? There are only 2 drawbacks though, the first is that i cant remmember ALL the people on which their work is included in my mod so i cant list everyone, and the second is............its over 500MB !! Still if this is allowed, it'll be WELL worth the download, i can assure you. I'd say its equally as playable as MBII, if not more playable. I'll post some screenies on here to show you what its like, but their not extremily good ones. Thanks alot people :D

This is what i mean, I havent asked yet no, but theres no point if im not allowed to upload it to the net. If i am allowed, ill ask by uploading it, then ill ask all the people whos work is in the mod to email me with their names, so that i can include them in the credits. I really want hardly any credit for it appart from putting the mods together.

Be aware with a file as large as that, it may take a substantially longer time to upload. I'd say if it's 500mb, it's be somewhere in the ballpark of a 5-6 hour upload for us, so if we don't see there and watch it for the whole time, we can't do anything if the upload times out. That's a risk you take in creating such a large file.

I do suggest you get permissoin from these authors. We generally frown on just resubmitting someone else's work, so the least you could do is make sure the original authors are ok with it. Because I'm going to get really irritated if I spend 5 hours uploading it and I get an e-mail the next day asking for it to be taken down.

It was deleted because hijacking someone's thread is rude. Don't do it.

Heh, I wasn't hijacking it. I saw all of the icons in the fourth pic, so I thought he might have some idea how to.

Another option would be to look over the "read me's" of the mods you used. some of the community are nice enough to allow such modifications/implementations in your mod if you include thier works/name in the read me. they are few and far between, but there are some mods which only ask credit for thier contributions. I would suggest lloking over such read me's and seeing who exactly needs to be contacted, might save you some time-Peace!
