I'm currently using Spanki's Jedi Costumization pack to replace the generic Jedi Master and Jedi models in SP, simply because I hate the originals. I'm just curious if it's possible to make it so that each one of them is different rather than having three Jedi Masters looking the same and two Jedi looking the same.

Ok then, to tackle this another way, is there a tool or program that would allow me to edit certain maps and/or cutscenes to replace certain npcs in certaina reas or cutscenes. For example one thing I dislike is the cutscene where students are being assigned to masters and there's the Trainer (only one of him), Kyle and then three generic masters. Would it be possible to create another npc file for a variant master and then replace one of the normal ones in the cutscene using a modding tool?

I tried to find a solution to this a month ago. Unfortunately i couldn't find one. I replaced all the jedi models with spanki's mod, probably like you have. However, to get rid of the idea of 3 identical masters, i simply changed their models to hooded. I know it's a cheap trick that doesn't work well, but it's the only thing i could come up with. I think the 'random' effect only works with jedi_random. Hopefully someone else here will have a better answer!

That's why I thought of the idea of editting the maps/cutscenes themselves so that you could use additional Jedi Master npc files to replace 2 of the original 3. My only question is, is there a modding tool out there that would allow me to do this?

As far as i know, the only way to edit a map is to have the .map file. The files that come in the game are in a .bsp format, so i don't think they can be altered. But still, i could be wrong.

Make it "the only GF endorsed way to edit a map is to have the .map file". Alas, it amounts to the same.
