JK3 accepts pictures sized to 1024x1024 pixels and from that what I know, it doesn't accept another size.
I made an ingame-screenshot and I wanted to make it be a "splash" (instead of jk3 logo |which is displayed before openinglogos|) but the problem is it, I cannot make this picture's size to1024x1024.
I opened it using a Gimp 2.5 and when I try to scale of this screenshot to 1024x1024 gimp rejects this and sets X or Y to another number than my beloved 1024.
Are there any suggestions how can I change the scale....?
Is there a "keep/maintain aspect ratio" button?
Also, FYI, JA can take it up to at least 4096x4096.
^What Jose said. I think in Gimp there's a little icon next to the text box where you enter the number of pixels. It looks like a chain or something.
You're maybe trying to make a non-square image square. Image > Scale Image and in the box that pops up, put in the width you want, click the little chain link (which should break, showing that the aspect ratio is no longer preserved) and then type 1024 in the bottom box.
In case you didn't know, JKA accepts any image sizes which are a power of two, not just 1024. (e.g. 1, 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024...) :)
Kind of late for me to jump in, but yes, Xycaleth has the right answer. If you want more details on what JA can accept check this out:
I'm fairly certain that JKA can't accept dimensions lower than 16x16.
It can, Xode.

Except 1, 2, 4, and 8. These don't work ingame. :)
edit: didn't see xode already nailed this. No, fang, it cannot. :) I made a bunch of small solid colors for use in radiant before real texturing was done in a folder called softcolors. Basically, colors that didnt make me wanna scratch my eyes out like the base red, blue, green, yellow, etc.
I originally made them at 8x8 but had to resize to 16x16 because they had white and gray squares ingame.
