Ok with the new telekinesis mod Telekinesis, Jedi Knight 3 Downloads, Jedi Knight 3 Mini-Mods I had an interesting idea.I was wondering if it would be possible to make it so you can grip, push, pull, etc on the objects.Like wouldn't it be cool to pick up a crate while fighting boba fett and slam it into him and knock him down? Would this be possable? Maybe trick the game into thinking it is a npc?

I had this idea ages ago, expect nobody was willing to give me a hand getting a crate (or other such object) to "work" as a player model. You can only freely push and pull etc. players/bots/NPCs. It's sort of fun being able to hurl a tie-fighter around, even if it was half-embedded in the ground.

I tried making an NPC model a while ago. The idea was so that i could spawn the model wherever i wanted.

Basically, what i see that u'd need to do is Learn how to make a working NPC. Just copy a base models NPC files and such. Edit the model to your object. Change all the health, movement and stuff. NPC's also need a animation file to work. Just open up an anim file and delete the stuff inside (i've never tried this procedure before, but it might work).

If it works, huzzah. If it doesn't, sorry

Ok, this is what I was hoping for, but now someone needs to show me where to get a decent tutorial for converting an object model into a npc. Uhh...anyone know somewhere good?:lookaround:I'll check JKA file but last I checked there wasn't one there.

... not to be rude but don't expect a tutorial to do every single custom thing that pops out of mind and is totally out of pattern... just take a box, take one of the vehicle tutorials, give the box a pelvis (bone), follow the tutorial and when creating the npc file tell it not to move (walkspeed 0 yawspeed 0) rest is up to u

The NPC thing isn't practical though for a large map. You can't really have every single detail a npc so a player can just move it around. What for anyway, It isn't as though you can knock people down with it.

Actually you can... It doesn't do any damage though.

Unless it's scripted to, of course.

I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.
