some hints I got for ya :
Work at the shape of his body ! his torso seems very blocky and the shoulders wont deform very good , you should allways pay attention to the topology of your model even when you're not going to animate it
fix the position of his feet and knees , you should move them forward and down a little a. as his elgs are right now he wouldn't be able to stand on his own he'd simply fall over and land on his face b. his thighs are to short , pay more attention to the reference pics I gave ya yesterday mate , I'll attach a link to a nice ref pic to this reply
you got his , let's call them ears wrong , you extruded them fromthe side of his face while they run down from the side of his head , it's difficult to explain just pay more attention to the ref pics
now to the head.... his head still needs a lot of fixes , pay more attentino to the shape and general proportions of his face I can probably do a paint over for you some other time incase you need it
EDIT : allmost forgot this ,the best reference picture I know for kazdan is this :
Arms have way more edges than necessary, topology of shoulders and hips should be addressed and proportions in general are off but ashira posted a really good reference. I'd study it.
nah thats enuff for me right there ill start now.
a lil better?
The animated GIF images are a little tough to look at carefully sometimes, check out how Inyri posts pics from 8 angles and makes it 1 still image, 1 with normal shading and 1 with wire overlay.
Still has too many edges running the length of the arms and the hips really need to be addressed. The toes could use an additional edge loop since it will be a major point of deformation since this will obviously need a custom skeleton.
Not sure if you're gonna do something about the mouth and eye sockets, they could use some more edge loops, not just for deformation but he looks like he has no eye lids.
sounds good.ill do it tonight. hes not gunna deform at all just his face, so the extra edge loops around mouth and eyes are needed yer right. ill knock it out tonight. thx 4 the patience n help man
a lil more work, less faces, more detail
oh dear... I'm sorry to say but I think you should better start over fixing your current topology would take about the same time
here are some tutorials that helped me quite a lot when I got started in character modeling
I could probably do a deeper search for tutorials but I think these should be pretty helpful for the moment so good luck
yeah ill definately learn my lesson n try to do the topology more realistic on my next model.but as for kazdan im pretty much done with him.ima texture it n rig it just to make sure the concept behind his rigging will work correctly, and prolly just abandon him.im not too into doing kazdan to start over lol... thx ashura. crazy work on that orc textures man.
nother update.. just a render.. couple more pieces. should b about ready to paint
double post =D
some texture work. fine tuning in textures here n there
ashura pointed out some deforming problems with his backpack extremeties so im gunna work on them a bit next. i modeled them around the jka skele, but forgot to adjust the hips and shoulders as needed. new pics soon. then rigging
Your lack of smoothing disturbs me ;)
Looks much better now, although I didn't comment on it before :p
