Szico hasn't been sued because he's making a map. Modelers haven't been sued because they're just making models. There's no harm in either of those, but when you rip off an entire gameworld, that's a different thing.
Anyone else doubting if Square-Enix would even care about a mod, go on Google and search for "Chrono Resurrection" - a fan remake of a very old, and very popular, SNES game, which ceased to be available in the shops back in the late 90's.
Now, the only people who make a profit from Chrono Trigger are the freaky game collectors who sell the cartridges on eBay - and Square-Enix still shut down the remake project.
Kingdom Hearts, and all of the Final Fantasy games, are still commercially available in one form or another, so it's twice as likely they'd pounce on anything with "FF", "KH", and "Mod" in it's title.
I don't know how, and I don't know why, but this is totally Sheep's fault.
LOL Let's ask Szico to rename the map to Modgar V3 than... Ah joking...
Anyway... Most times if it's something in that kind they do get a knowing of it and they do send you a polite letter... It's actually if you create things for the game like conversions they don't care but if you go into story's they won't like it
