Can anyone explain the best way to go about fixing leaks. It always seems to me that it is a hard and painstaking process. maybe i'm not doing it right seeing as i've just started mapping about 2 weeks ago. Any help would be great. Thanks

think of ure map like its filled with water.... any hole (wich is normally the leak) and it will fleed out.. fix that hole and u repeared that leak... sometimes leaks is just entity errors.. where something in an entity is wrong

Here's another way to think of it. You map is a submarine, and a leak let's water in that will drown the map. Now then, as for hunting them, there is one lazy solution to do it, but GothiX is probably going to say that it is bad, but that solution is to put a huge structual brush around the map. If you are too lazy to find leaks, you may be too lazy to map.

Moberemk, DIE. Doing that makes VIS totaly useless.

Also, find the leak, and keep in mind that patches and detail brushes don't block it, and put a structural brush where the leak is. Should do the trick.

i was just looking for a better way to find them. The red line that points to the leak isn't very good at pointing to the area. It more or less crosses the map randomly and goes through the leak or near it a some point.

Nope, the only way to find it is by following the line.

Whoa, calm down. I clearly said that you would disagree. Just calm down, OK? No need to threaten me. I get the idea.

Then why would you post such an utterly moronic idea?

True, it was stupid, but I wanted to include every way to get it to work. Look, just drop it, okay? I understand that that was a bad suggesion, and I will not repeat it. Unless I want to sabotage a clan map project. Which I wouldn't.

I've already learned my lesson about the big box around the map. Its not worth it trust me. After screwing up one project i'm not going to do it with this one. But i do have a quick question. Worldspawns. I had a map working with a few minor errors. Well i went backt to fix the errors and after i fixed i saved and made a bsp. Well i got it into a pk3 and went to load it up on my server. Well it crashed. i tried a few more times and it repeated the process of crashing. I go back to edit the map to see whats wrong and the map won't load up. It said no worldspawn....Any way to get around this so i can add it or fix whatever it is i screwed up yet again?
