As some may know, I had requestion that someone make Clown's Trident saber from the good old days.. And was told to try it myself.. So I've come a long way, but I cannot figure out the texturing part.. Any help? There's a tutorial under the 3DS/Gmax section labelled 'UVW Mapping', which you'll need to work through to generate the skinmap.

After you've got the blank skinmap, you can just texture it in the same way you'd make any other image file. You can either use the skinning tutorials in there as a practice run, or you can use any tutorial you can find on the net which is aimed at image creation. It's essentially the same thing, only with skinning you have to make sure everything looks right when rendered onto the model.

I believe that if you're following the Lightsaber Crafting Tutorial, it should have given some tips on what to do on a step-by-step basis. If not, well, you probably should be - it's the best saber tutorial we've got for beginners.

If you don't have Photoshop, grab GIMP - it's free, and a very good image editor.

I can make the UVW map, it's the actual textures I can't make.. I'm not an artist lol... I got some time to try again today though and I have to cut down on vertexes.. So here we go again ;) Thanks, -Atrusino
