I was wondering if anyone would be gracious enough to make me this lightsaber for use in my game? kyle_lightsaber.png I apologize about the size of the picture but i wanted to make sure that everyone could see the detail I am going for. Its basically lukes ROTJ lightsaber with a few cosmetic differences. Ive been trying to think of a lightsaber for my character that looks familiar but is all my own at the same time. Now, I have no idea as to how to make a game-playable lightsaber and thats why I come before those of you who do know how to make them

Pande;4930082Try this file first: Revan Dark Star Wars Hilts, Jedi Knight 3 Downloads, Jedi Knight 3 Packs

I already have that file and I used it regularly. Im just trying to get a one of a kind lightsaber.

From the looks of things, you wouldnt have to make a new saber, if you just want one that looks like lukes only with some cosmetic differences, you can just edit the skin.

Um how exactly would I do that?

Just to clarify before i continue, editing the skin does not allow you to alter the shape, but allows you to alter the texture that is applied to the shape so to speak.

If you look in the folder containing the saber model you will see the textures for it in the same folder. You can edit these textures using any image manipulation program like adobe photoshop, GIMP or even mspaint.

If you wanted to make a custom skin for the "saber_1" saber that comes with jedi academy for instance, you would just extract the file "models/weapons2/saber_1/saber_1.jpg" then edit it it however you wanted. Then just make a pk3 with the folders "models/weapons2/saber_1" and place the modified saber_1.jpg into it and whilever the pk3 was in your base you would see your own skin rather than the default one.

This technique would make "saber_1" appear with the new skin for you so whenever you went onto a server if someone used "saber_1" you would see it with your new skin.

If you wanted a totally different saber i.e. with a different name you would have to make a new .sab file but the technique i described above will get you started if you have never modded jka before.

Ive also attached a zip containing a pk3 which does what i have just said in my post, in this case i put the word "cloudflint" onto saber_1, so if your not sure what im talking about just examine the pk3 and you will see what i have done.
