As the title says, I'm looking for opinions on the best human female models/skins for JK3. Being a girl playing JA, I anxiously await new female models/skins, but they are few and far between. :(

I like to tinker with them for my own personal use, but some skins, like one of the Mara Jade skins, has features that cannot be removed from the model, like knee pads. Who would wear kneepads in a lightsaber duel?

Anyway, I've seen a bunch and I was wondering what others thought, hoping that perhaps I've missed some of the better ones out there. :)

http://www.google.ca/search?hl=en&q=JKA+female+skins+files&meta= http://jediknight2.filefront.com/file/Prom_Whisper;37076x http://pcgamemods.com/mod/18388.html http://pcgamemods.com/mod/8178.html http://www.lucasfiles.com/index.php?s=a6edd32172b65&action=file&id=1349&show=more&PHPSESSID=a6edd32172b65 Dont get me wrong nice to always help out the general newbie.. 3 major sites to look for any skin would be pcgame mods, lucasfiles, and lastly jk2 filefront.. and yes i do belive i see what you mean, there is a big lack of female models/skins.. i mean atleast on kotor1/2 they give you a varity of sex, color etc.. most importantly custom clothing! Almost makes me want to make a big custom speices skins/models.. only if we could custom make our own sabers thou eh? hmmm, this idea has crossed my mind! the whole long list of custom characters with many different variations etc.. playing alot of kotor is bringing alot of ideas to me.. such as use of a custom character basically i am going to make a mod going around a story of my based character as a master shortly after jka. The main character is a custom person with the custom species etc.. bleh as far i know its going to add in plenty of custom features, and err.. wtf i just seen a comercial on for transformer starwars? thats wrong... a tie/darth vader mech? so wrong..

Female model/skins? You might want to check out Antizac's work, especially his masterpieces Leela and (my favorite) Yuna. Leela is a generic female model from which many female skins stem from. Lots of variety and options. Yuna, I can safely say, is one of the best female models out there. Plasmacoolant also makes nice skins of female models, as you may already have seen with Prom Whisper. I recommend his Woo Sisters set. Also check out the JK2:JO archives for skins by him. (though you'll be having that dual saber problem with them, they'll generally work fine with JA)

FireFox, I saw the SW transformers too, my son wants them so bad now. *sigh* I agree there's something inheritantly wrong with that.

Thanks for the links too, I appreciate them. I should have been more clear, I've searched jk3files and pcgamemods, pretty extensively and some other sites to a lesser extent. It seems that most worthwhile files makes it to jk3file or pcgamemods though.

I like the Yuna model, although it's just a personal thing, I like longer hair. I've also seen the Leela model and even reskinned SaberGirl's skin with Antizac's permission, although it really wasn't much of a re-skin. It was more of a re-color...it was my first attempt and I didn't realize what re-skinning really meant. lol One issue I have with the Leela model is that I use dual sabers and I think Leela was/is a JO model and there is a small bug with dual sabers.

Silver Cross, I do like Plasmacoolant's skins a lot. Some of them are a bit more "racier" than I prefer, we have some younger kids in our clan and I prefer to have more dressed skin. lol But he does do an excellent job. The Woo sisters are great, but the reskin of twileks and zabraks to look human always looks a bit weird to me.

And again as you mentioned, the JO skins don't work great because I do use dual sabers almost exclusively.

Even the Jan model wouldn't be so bad to reskin if you could take that darn glove off her one hand. I don't want a skin that looks like a female version of Michael Jackson, you know? And the human female jedi all have a harsh look to them and I'm not crazy about the hair on any of them.

I'm just wondering if I'm missing any of the good models out there or just have to accept there aren't that many.

There are alot of models out there, And skin variations etc.. Just alot of searching, and for the more raciey type skins I do agree.. Back when I was young, I had my fun with the nude toon rader hack... But being older, when I play a game it has to be on topic of the storyline etc.. If its hitman series then sure you would expect the odd half naked woman or guy. But when its starwars, its ment for all ages! Mech assault same deal, Ghost recon too.. Splinter Cell series.. Halo, and well concur live and reloaded.. I mean sure that game has its close calls but none the less its the greatest rare game ever! I mean its alot harder to model then it is to make skins. My modeling skills arnt as advanced, my mapping I like to think is probably the highest part into 3d editing as my coding/scripting follow in 2nd.. and textures/skins follow 3rd.. When I do get around to making a huge line of custom character models/skins.. Keep in mind I will ask the authors for using thier work as base material, Make my own material etc.. The most important thing I like to do when I may get to the point of publishing work is Try to never have anything alike any work compared to a original author. But in a week or so I should be good for making skins, Damn idiot friend is taking forever getting me a photoshop version.. Let alone my c++ cd is missing.. My luck lately!

StingRay's Padme pack, which JK3Files just got posted, is pretty good unless you don't like Padme. It has some more feminine qualities to it. Though I suspect it may have been on PCGameMods for a while, so you might already have seen it. Judging from the e-mail she sent us that, along with the Spawn model, got lost somewhere along the way some time ago, which is why we just posted them.

FireFox, if I could skin from scratch, I'd probably try my hand at modelling too. But I just don't have the time/patience to use photoshop correctly to get skins to have great textures, like most of the better looking skins. :(

I do make maps for my clan, but that's about as far as I've gotten so far and have been happy with the outcome of the work I've been able to do. I do minor re-skins for my clan as well, but it's nothing major, just stuff for our personal use.

Inyri, yes, StingRay's Padme pack is great! The Padme model I really wanted to try and re-skin for myself is Liberty Ashford's Padme Ep II model. I love the strands of hair hanging down in the front, I love this model. Unfortunately that skin has a major bug with dual sabers (as you may remember), the second saber is behind her. I did email him and he and his collaborators plan to fix it eventually. But that doesn't help me now. lol

 He didn't fix that before he released it? Very naughty indeed! :p

At least he put the bug in the readme...but I didn't see it until AFTER I started playing around with it.

That's not a hard bug to fix, though :uhm:. Definitely the kind of thing you'd want to correct before releasing. A shame he didn't...
