Hi, I already made a series of Star Wars pictures using Jedi Academy engine, this is the part 2. In previous series of pictures (here) I spawned NPCs, took a snapshot form a certain angle and then Photoshoped it. It was impossible to position them in the exact place I wanted them so in this series I took separate snapshots of everything for more liberty in image manipulation and then made a composite image. I think it worked out pretty well?
Thanks for watching Luka
*spontaneously combusts*
your machinima is awesome! you should do videos!
Some parts I don't like because you use a still scene then put motion blur into it (different ofc than focus) but the rest. 10/10. :) Please, make PotD's for Jk3Files. Hell, maybe you can make people love Rosh being killed in an epic, cinematic way. :p
Also, nice photoshopping of Han. I noticed his hands are behind his back but your screenshot was of meelee stance. ;) Tho, JA+ could have done that for you too.
Outstanding!
Thank you.
I thought of doing videos, but as you can see from all the fan-made collective, even the top-notch ones are actually pretty shoddy due to engine limitations. Choppy camera movement is the main thing that annoys me. The other thing is model movement, which is good for a game (quick response time, fluid animation transitions) but there is no way of proper head movement in particular direction, no good looking holster walking (you gotta hold your weapon) and some minor things.
If I'd start making machinima videos, I'd took me months before I'd get some good results.
Most videos are just map overviews with no characters, or just plane combat capture. No artistic stuff.
And yeah, I'm a great Ridley Scott and David Fincher admirer.
Does anyone knows any good JK fan made video?
Thanks
"Most videos are just map overviews with no characters" That IS artistic. xD
Those are my favourites:
The Darkness Unleashed is pretty good (youtube). I don't think you can get any better than that with JK engine capabilities. But the main limitations of game engine can be seen, the npcs in all games aren't meant for anything else than fighting. So when they walk, talk or do anything else... it looks just awkward.
But a great job indeed! Bravo for the team that made it.
Also, here's another one I made.
This was a quickie, made it in less than an hour (but don't tell anyone cause it looks like a lot of work), although a lot of time went to redrawing the trooper's hand.
Also: I once saw an animation/slideshow that subtitled Star Wars Episode IV in a HILARIOUS way. It was on pointlesswasteoftime.com (or something), and the author is John Cheese (i think, it was similar to John Cleese). This scene from a movie was subtitled like this:
Trooper #1 : Set your guns to date-rape. Trooper #2 : I bet she ain't wearing any panties. Trooper #3 : She won't be in about 30 seconds...
It always makes me laugh.
Any suggestions what I should do next? Both off-canon and on-cannon, but for the off-one provide reference.
